Create a project

You can create a new Trimble Connect project, or you can use an existing project as a template for your project.

Create a new project

  1. Log into Trimble Connect for Browser.
  2. Click the New button at the top-right of the page.
  3. Enter the project name, project image, project location and other optional details.

    Project location

    The project server location setting is important as Trimble Connect servers are located in three different regions, North America, Europe, and Asia, to increase the performance for customers located all over the world. Select the region closest to you.

    Project ownership

    Select your company with ownership to the project. The selection can be changed later in Project Details.

    Subscription for project

    Contains a list of the Trimble Connect licenses that are available for your Trimble Identity. Select the license you want the new project to be associated to. The selection can be changed later in Project Details.

  4. Click More options to add Description, Start Date and End Date.
  5. Click Submit.

Your project is now ready for use.

Create a project from an existing project

You can create a new project by including the project settings, project members, project groups, and folder structure from an existing project.

  1. On the projects page, click the More button on an existing project.
  2. Select Use as Template for a New Project.

    The New from existing project dialog box opens.

  3. Select the following check boxes to define the configuration of the new project:

    Project settings

    Copy most of the settings.

    Project members

    Copy the project members.

    Note:

    This does not include members who have been removed from the existing project.

    Groups

    Copy all groups.

    Folder structures

    Copy the entire folder structure and permissions.

    Note:

    If you do not select the Project members and Groups check boxes, the permissions related to those members and groups are not copied to the new project folders.

  4. Click Next.

    The New Project dialog box opens.

  5. Type in a name for the new project.

    Click More options to add Description, Start Date and End Date.

    The project server location menu is deactivated and a new project is created in the same server location as the original project.

  6. Click Submit.

Your project is now ready for use.
