Release selected files to users

Releases are used to send versions of files privately to users who are part of a project. Using releases is useful if a user is not allowed access to a particular project, but the user needs to access a particular version of a file in the project. You can create and manage releases in Trimble Connect for Browser on the Releases page.

Create a release

  1. Go to the Releases page.
  2. Click the Create Release on the top of the page.

    The Create Release dialog box opens.

  3. Enter the needed information, such as Release name, Due Date, and Recipients.
  4. Click Submit.

Attach files to a release

The recipients of the release receive the attached files with the release.

  1. Go to the Explorer page.
  2. Select a file.
  3. Click the More button and select Add Files to Release.
  4. Create a new release, or select an existing release to which you want to add files.
  5. Click Save.

Send and delete releases

  1. Go to the Releases page.
  2. Select a release.

    The Details pane opens on the right side.

  3. To send the release, click the Send button at bottom of the Details pane.

    The release is sent in an email to the recipients.

  4. To delete the release, click the Delete Release button at the top of the Details pane.

Download files attached to release

  1. Go to the Releases page.
  2. Select a release.
  3. Click the Download Files From Release button at the top of the Details pane.
