Manage models and files

You can upload and download both 2D files and 3D models using Trimble Connect for Windows. 2D files can be photos, text files, excel sheets, documents, or other similar files.

Note:

Users' access rights to project folders are determined in Trimble Connect for Browser. If you have limited access rights to a particular folder, buttons in that folder are unavailable, and dragging and dropping does not work.

Upload a file to a project

To upload 2D files and 3D models to a project:

  2. If you want to add the file into a specific folder in the project, in the Explorer side pane, select the folder.

  5. Click Open.

The file is uploaded to the open project.

File conversion errors

If a corrupted file is added to the project, Trimble Connect for Windows will still try to convert the model and load the model into the 3D viewer. If a model cannot be loaded, the model name will be shown in red in the Models list.

File conversion errors can be caused by:

  • Internal server issues

  • Corrupted files

If the model conversion fails, users with project administrator rights can retry converting the model in the 3D Viewer:
